Air Ganda vs KL fringe

Last weekend, Masa, Masabou, Takeshi & me went to Air Ganda to search for giant Toman.....we departed from K.L. at 1:30am Saturday and reached Gerik at 5:00am,...... There were some beetles found infront of Seven-Eleven....... A male Xylotrupes Gideon with its tinny horn.....
We reached Kampong Air Ganda jetty at 7:00am sharp, and our boatman was already waiting to move out....It's unusual that boatman can be so punctual.... normally they are always late......
Way to go....... we headed South and hope for the big catch.....The sky seemed a little gloomy.....
The monster Toman is out there some where........Heh Heh Heh......
Arun, our boatman who serve us today was the one I taught of how to position the boat for good casting....... Hope he has improved. Trying to alocate the toman is the first thing to do........ After a while of trying....Takeshi caught himself a 2.5kg Toman that broke the silence.....
In the afternoon, I managed to land a decent size Toman..... After that the bite didn't continue...
we had had a few miss bites and that was all for that day....
We tried to go back to the jetty a bit sooner to get the car tyre fixed.... Co'z there was a leak during the journey here......
After that we checked into a small hotel at Gerik town, after a bath we went to a chinese village for our dinner...... Tonight's special was steam cook Tengalan Fish....... It looked gross but infact it tasted so great......( it was very pricey too)
Had some Japanese Shouju before sleeping.......
Next morning...... got back there and tried another time......
Today, Masabou & me went in the same boat together..... here we go again....
We came into a lagoon which were full of dead tree trunks at the surrounding.....A few bites which missed my lure..... Only the small Toman interested at my lure..... It was so hot in the afternoon that we called it off and headed back to K.L.....
At the very same time Hoe and his gang went up to a different place near K.L. fringe....and the results were excellent....... Breaking his own record with a 9kg Toman!
Jeff also had good catches on that day...... Instead of having to drive for 4-5 hours to Air Ganda, you can actually get wonderful catches near by also.......

Haruan Game

Malaysia is now in its dry season and every day the sun is burning hot..... it is even hotter at noon.... some times soaring as high as 38 degree C.... TOO HOT! Last Sunday, went for a liitle Haruan fishing (Strip Snake Head)....... The Haruan here is getting smarter and smarter, soft lure fishing no longer guanrantees catches. The fish that bites will let go if it feels something fishy.......and it some times hold on the soft plastic worm for long time before it actually swallows it.....
A hole believed to be the lare of the Python snake.......... Scary! scary!
Today's champion - Takeshi , caught himself over 6 Haruans ( 3 with crank bait & 3 with soft plastic )......
This Haruan took my Rubber Jig.....
On the way back to K.L. saw a rare AIRBOAT in sight....Wow! airboat in Malaysia, imagine using it for fishing.......

Potential fishing ground....

Last week I went up to a place near Slim River, where my friend owns an airport with a small landing strip for Cessna plane there.........
They even provide flying program...... Don't know how is the charges like?....The view of the runway.... They even accomodate shelters such as these....... Nice & Neat!
These place is vast and has about over 10 ponds here..... Thinking to breed some predatory fish species in the ponds........How about a fish like this..... Yes! Cichla Temensis " Tucunare"

Beetle Hunt

It was the third time to Fraser's Hill for my 11 month old little princess....... For the very first time she can hold onto the swing by herself....Light trap at the balcony.......
My curious little princess daring to grapple everything she see....... Giant Cicada is like a toy to her now......A lot of insects came to the light trap, but not many beetles did...... So, we went out to search under lamp posts and lighted area near by our apartment. Here was the harvest, a male stag beetle Cyclommatus Lunifer....... cute hah!Not far away from the toilet's light beside the guarthouse lay a rarely found precious male Rhaetulus Didieri........ Wow! it was my lucky day........
Compared to my existing collection of the Rhaetulus Didieri which is 93mm in size, this one is just a tiny one........
