Toman Fishing is mostly a Sight Fishing Game in Malaysia.... due to the landscape and the dam structure here in Temenggor it has very little place for Blind Casting Game..... To be hornest, Toman Sight Fishing is not an easy job for a beginner, First you must have a good hearing, good eye sight and a good casting skills to catch them with lures..... What normally we practice, first we locate the Toman by sighting the fish gulping air from the surface and then cast the lure as fast as you can with lightning speed.... so that the lures can swim infront of the fish....
Even with all the right moves, skill and know-how, you might still end up with a 50/50% chance of the fish taking the lure..... Usually for beginners who wants to take up the challenge of Toman Game Fishing, the first 2 days is mostly a practice and an experiencing period of understanding the game..... Of course sometimes it very much depends on luck too... In the event you come across an aggressive feeding day, all the aforesaid does not apply anymore.... The fish will just take any lure in sight, sometimes attacking even from a distance of 2 - 3M away..... defying all logic.
The result was not that promising that trip..... resulting only in small sized catches....
OMG! Ikan Patong (Pristolepis fasciatus) caught with lure......
