After a long year of hard working,... finally comes the year end season and this is a good time to go jungle fishing at Khao Leam National Park in West Thailand which I wouldn't want to miss..... Took a flight from KL to Bangkok and a 5 hours drive from the airport,... and our boat waited for us a long time before we reached there in the evening....
Another one hour boat ride to the floating rest house where we were going to stay for the night....
Beautiful sunset at the Khao Leam lake....
Our floating rest house for the night with dinner readily awaiting us to be served.... and of course together with my whisky! Hehehe, cheers man!!...
We took off early morning, headed to a village where we will take another ground transport to the jungle located at the western part of the dam....
Picking up our porters along the way and making our way into the jungle.... Our porters were happy and glad to see me again after my trip there last year....
The transport took us all the way to where the road ends....
From here we have to trek into the jungle where the rivers are....
Reaching the river after a 5-hour of trek....
Yes! The river still looks beautiful as it is....
We found a nice camp site for the night after another hour of trekking up the river....
Preparing dinner and rest for the night....
Everyone was hungry and so eager to have their dinner.....
Nice!! I Love to dine in the Jungle... umm, yammy! Yammy!
Trekking up the river to fish after the morning breakfast....
Some small fella caught on a small spoon.... cute isn't it?!!...
Tomans were caught in this part of the river too! I have never seen a Toman in the river for my past 3 visits to this river.... This Toman really traveled far from the dam down below, I wonder what has happened in the dam....
Jungle Perch!... Nice!...
Mike also caught some Jungle Perch too.....
Yes! My first Golden Masheer for the year......
Awesome looking fish! Isn't it?!!....
Yes! Another beauty....
Love the beautiful colour of it's scales.....
Oh my god!! Believe it or not! The Toman hi-jacked the hooked up Jungle Perch from this fast running water stream.... look at it nasty bite...
More action at the upper section of the river.......
Yeah! A nice sized Golden Masheer,... gorgeous!!
Beautiful fish it is.....
Wow! This is truly blue in colour....
Came across some young villagers mining for gold.....
Look at the gold dust, there are really gold here in this river....
After a day of trek and fishing up to the river, we decided to make a bamboo raft to go back to the camp site..... Yes!! This is easier...Hahaha!!!
There were a lot of tadpoles in the river and they were big size ones.....
And the locals claimed that this can be eaten,... let's try it out!!....
Well, I dare not try the stew cooked tadpoles but the crispy fried ones were good.....
Talking about jungle food,...I wouldn't miss out on the jungle frogs, the locals caught some frogs during the night and prepared us a sumptuous meal for the day....
I love jungle fishing, it is not just because of the fishes but also because of the tasty jungle food....
Well, see you guys again next year!!..... Munch! Munch!....
