Bug Collecting Trip

Catching up with my beetle collection, a friend of mine has just invited me to his forest camp inside a deep jungle located in North Borneo Sabah.... After arriving in Kota Kinabalu, we transfered straight to the camp site situated in Keningau area.... Stopping by at the 1500m Crocker Range to buy some food to consume inside the camp....
Packing up on to the 4 X 4 pick up truck....
How nice that they have wild boar stalls by the road side... Wow! Look at the price,... it's even more expensive than the normal pork price in West Malaysia....
Bought a few for tonight dinner...
Passing through a ranger check point station....
Took us a 2 hours drive on the dirt road to reach the camp site that is located at 1300m above sea level inside the deep forest....
Wow! It is really a cooling place indeed....
Preparing dinner for the night....
Braise wild boar meat in thick soy gravy..... Looks bad but smells good!...
Ok! Time to have it.....
Setting up light trap after dinner....
Look what has turned up after a while.....
A Rhino beetle of Chalcosoma mollenkampi....
Attacus Atlas moth....
Tonight not much beetle turned up but many moths around....
Have you seen one of the smallest Cicadas in the world?.... This is it! The genus of Nelcyndana..
Kept this couple for my friend to breed....
Morning breeze... feels like heaven on earth....
Trekking down to a stream to check out some fish....
Tiger leeches every where.... creepy blood sucking fella....
Nice creek but the water turned murky after rain....
Meandering along the steep rocky walls down the creek....
Plenty of catches but there is no big fish in that area....
Nice Sabah's Masheer "Pelian Fish"....
Brought back some for our dinner....
Yummy! Yummy!....
There is flooding everywhere along our way back..... it was the bad flood incident at Api api which was reported in the news...
